The Founders

Tal Knafo

CTO

Tal is an AI and neuroscience expert. Prior to co-founding Canotera, she formed and led the AI functions at AKA Foods and Blink, and served as the AI Lead at NYX. Tal holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Technion and Weizmann Institute, and a BSc in Mathematics from Technion. She also serves as Electro-Optical Engineer at one of the IDF elite technological units.

Yariv Lissauer

CEO

Prior to co-founding Canotera, Yariv was the founder and CEO of Leap, which was acquired by Endeavor (NYSE: EDR) in 2023. With previous roles as Principal at Synergy Innovations VC and Associate Director at Standard Chartered Bank, he brings extensive expertise in venture building, Finance, and Legal. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, an LLM from Tel Aviv University, and an LLB from the University of Haifa. Yariv is also a professor in the School of Entrepreneurship at Reichman University.

 

David Silver

Head of AI

David has extensive and diverse AI and machine learning experience. He founded and led Embryonics (acquired by Rheain 2023) and held key technological (mainly AI and machine learning) roles at AKA Foods, Apple, and Intel. David was an AI and machine learning Research Assistant at Technion and received a Microsoft Fellowship.

Over 30 years of experience in corporate law, focusing on complex cross-border transactions, M&A, corporate restructuring, and private equity: Advised on transactions exceeding $150 billion in sectors including telecommunications, high-tech, media, energy and biotech.
Recognized globally for his innovative solutions in high-profile, large-scale corporate matters. Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig LLP. Published numerous articles in leading corporate periodicals and quoted in large publications; Lectured at University College London (Contracts and Conflict of Laws). Captain in the Israeli Defense Forces. LL.B. (University of London, First Class Honors); LL.M. (University of Chicago Law School, Honors).

Tim DeSieno

Litigation Funding and Law Firms

Tim is an expert in distressed debt and litigation funding. Until recently, he served as a Senior Advisor at Omni Bridgeway (ASX:OBL), sourcing and handling distressed- and enforcement-related opportunities globally. Prior to that, he was a debt restructuring partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. Tim holds a J.D. from Emory University and a B.A. in German from Davidson College. He has lectured at Columbia Law School on sovereign debt restructuring and the impact of AI on the practice of law.

Ron Shvili

Insurance and AI

Ron Shvili has an extensive experience as a C-level executive in insurance, finance, and telecom sectors, and held senior roles in the IDF. He has served as EVP and CTO at Phoenix Holdings (TASE: PHOE), CTO at Cellcom (TASE: CEL), and is a Retired Colonel from the IDF. Ron holds an MSc and BSc in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Tel Aviv University.
